Title: Fisher Information in Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum Applications

Abstract: The classical and quantum Fisher information are versatile tools to study parametrized quantum systems. These tools are firmly rooted in the field of quantum metrology. Their immense utility in the study of other applications of noisy intermediate-scale quantum devices, however, has only become apparent in recent years. In this talk, I will give an intuitive introduction to both classical and quantum Fisher information and show that they are useful tools for near-term applications. I will showcase some particular examples of these applications.
